$700 Million CA Lottery Powerball Up For Grabs

After no winner in Wednesday's jackpot drawing, the amount climbs for the next drawing.

ALAMEDA, CA — No winner claimed the California Lottery's Powerball jackpot of $643 million on Wednesday night, CA Lottery officials announced Thursday.

That means the amount will increase to approximately $700 million for the next drawing on Sunday at 7:59 p.m.

Officials said they anticipate more people to purchase tickets prior to then.

The $643 million was already "one of the biggest prizes in state history," lottery officials said. The new, larger amount sets another record in that regard.

The estimated cash value of the $700 million jackpot is $316.3 million, officials shared.
