Alameda Considers Surf Park At Alameda Point
"This could be a signature attraction for the city, activating an underutilized part of our waterfront."
ALAMEDA, CA — The City of Alameda is exploring an ambitious new addition to its waterfront: a surf park. The Neptune Beach Surf Club has proposed constructing a Surf Pool at Alameda Point as part of a broader vision for Enterprise Park, a developing recreational area near Encinal Beach.
The proposed Surf Pool would create year-round, surfable waves for people of all ages and skill levels. According to city officials, the project is still in its conceptual stages, and public input will play a key role in shaping its future.
“This could be a signature attraction for the city, activating an underutilized part of our waterfront,” said a city spokesperson.

Enterprise Park—currently a working name—could also feature campgrounds, dining options, and other recreation facilities. The area is located between the Encinal Boat Ramp and the USS Hornet and is envisioned as a vibrant aquatic hub.

To engage the public, the Neptune Beach Surf Club will host a pop-up community meeting on Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to noon at 150 W. Hornet Ave., at the intersection of West Hornet and Skyhawk Street.
