ALAMEDA, CA — The Alameda Fire Department officially placed its new Truck 1, a Pierce Enforcer Tractor Drawn Aerial, into frontline service Monday, marking a major upgrade to the department’s emergency response capabilities.

The new apparatus was welcomed during a small ceremony at Fire Station 1, where Fire Chaplain Father Jayson Landeza offered a blessing and firefighters upheld tradition by pushing the truck into its new bay.

Ordered in May 2022, the truck is the culmination of more than two years of planning and dedication by the department’s Apparatus Committee. “This is the result of hundreds of hours of hard work from our team,” the department said in a statement thanking the members involved in placing the vehicle into service.
