Alameda Firefighters Deployed to Battle West Coast Wildfires
Personnel and equipment from Alameda are assisting in multiple wildfire firefights while maintaining local coverage.
ALAMEDA, CA — Eight firefighters from the City of Alameda Fire Department have been deployed to assist in large-scale wildfire efforts across the West Coast.
The firefighters are part of the California Fire and Rescue Mutual Aid System, with several assigned to various fires in California and Oregon.
Four Alameda personnel, along with Engine 409, are currently stationed at the Bridge Fire in the Angeles National Forest as part of a strike team, while a division chief is deployed as a trainee on the Line Fire in the San Bernardino National Forest.
Meanwhile, two firefighters are assisting in Oregon's Diamond Complex blaze, one as a supervisor trainee and the other as lead public information officer.
The the Alameda Fire Department emphasizes that despite these deployments, local fire stations remain fully staffed to protect the community.
The Alameda Fire Department also expressed gratitude to its personnel for their dedication in working to safeguard both the local community and wildfire-affected regions across the West Coast.
