Alameda Mom Is 'The Strongest Woman I Know,' Daughter Says

ALAMEDA, CA— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

She is the strongest woman I know! When diagnosed with breast cancer during pandemic, she faced the long road of chemo/radiation and surgery with grace and COURAGE. She has ALWAYS been an amazing Mom and Nana, always going aboveaand beyond for her family! A perfect example of a matriarch! I can't fully put into words the gratitude I have for her! We love you Mom! You're a warrior!

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

She has always lived her life selfless, always helping everyone, especially her immediate and extended family through good times and bad. She also helped raise her younger siblings from the age of 9. Always leading by example, showing all who was growing up behind her what it looks like to be the best parent you possibly could be with unconditional love. Not all heroes wear capes! My mom ROCKS!
