ALAMEDA, CA — The Miller-Sweeney Bridge, also known as the Fruitvale Avenue Bridge, should be avoided this week because of road construction in Oakland, according to the City of Alameda.

Portions of Fruitvale Avenue are being paved this week.

If you take the bridge, turn onto Alameda Avenue after crossing the bridge.

To avoid the congestion, choose an alternative route, such as the High Street Bridge.
