Alameda residents may vote for their favorite local nonprofit groups at Bank of Alameda locations.

From a Bank of Alameda press release:

Bank of Alameda/Bank of Marin has announced a new “Give Back” program to benefit nonprofit organizations in Alameda.

The promotion launched this week will award a total of $10,000 to five local nonprofit organizations based in Alameda with grants of $2,000 each.

Organizations will be chosen from votes gathered at the two Bank of Alameda/Bank of Marin branches located in Alameda from Dec. 9 through Jan. 3, 2014.

“As an organization, we are dedicated to supporting the local community and our “Give Back” promotion is just one way we hope to make a valuable difference in Alameda,” said Russell A. Colombo, president and chief executive officer.

“We are excited to hear from the Alameda community as to their favorite local organizations that would benefit from our support.”

To be eligible, nonprofits must be a 501c(3) organization with their main office located in the City of Alameda.

Alameda residents may cast one vote for a local organization.

Participants do not need to be a Bank of Alameda/Bank of Marin customer and no transaction is necessary.

Votes must be cast at Bank of Alameda branches in Alameda, located at 2130 Otis Drive and 1416 Park St., where the complete set of rules is also posted.
