Driver Injured By Falling Tree In Alameda

ALAMEDA, CA — One person was injured when a large tree fell on a vehicle in Alameda Tuesday afternoon as a bomb cyclone storm roared through the Bay Area.

The vehicle was on Central Avenue at Page Street when it was crushed. "Alameda Firefighters rescued the solo occupant, with moderate injuries, by removing portions of the large tree and extricating him from his vehicle that had sustained significant damage," the fire department said on social media. "The patient was transported to a local hospital."

The rescue happened around 4:15 p.m.
