Ducks Paddle Through The Estuary: Photo Of The Day

These male mallards are a common sight around Alameda.

ALAMEDA, CA — Geoff Geiger captured this photo of two mallard ducks swimming in the estuary. According to the Cornell Lab of Orinthology, almost all domestic ducks come from this species. Spring is breeding season for mallards so keep an eye out for ducklings.
