Fatal Hit-And-Run Suspect In Alameda County Turns Himself In
Almost a month after he killed a pedestrian in a crosswalk, a man turned himself in, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's Department.

OAKLAND, CA — A man accused of a fatal hit-and-run collision with a pedestrian in May has turned himself in to authorities, police said Monday.
James Smith, 61, turned himself at an Alameda County Sheriff's office on May 31, according to Oakland police officials.
Simth is accused of vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and several a slew of other offenses. He is being held at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin without bail, according to court records.

On May 4, just before 11:30 a.m., Smith allegedly hit a pedestrian who was in a crosswalk at the intersection of San Pablo Avenue and 18th Street.
He then allegedly fled on foot.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.
