FedEx To Lay Off 174 Bay Area Workers
Two shipping centers in Alameda County are set to permanently closed. What to know.

OAKLAND, CA — FedEx will terminate 174 workers in the Bay Area along with the permanent closure of two facilities, according to state documents.
The shipping giant will close two Alameda County locations — 1600 63rd St. in Emeryville and 8455 Pardee Drive in Oakland, according to the latest WARN report filed with the Employment Development Department on Monday.
The facilities will close on June 2, according to the state.

FexEx said it is reorganizing its business in a letter to the EDD, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
A total of 79 workers will be laid off in Emeryville, while 95 employees in Oakland will be let go in June.
