ALAMEDA, CA — Police in Alameda have released their monthly crime summary. Here are some of the notable crimes that happened in September.
The Alameda Police Department published the following data for September:
- 5,867 calls for service
- 635 crime reports taken
- 194 traffic citations
- 132 arrests
- 55 crashes
- 13 aggravated assaults

- Police Bust Illegal Gambling Den
Police say they busted an illegal gambling den while serving a search warrant in the 600 block of Haight Avenue on Sept. 2.
There, officers seized slot machines, table games, firearms, ammo, cash and drugs, according to the Alameda Police Department.

Two people were given citations and the case was submitted to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office, police said.
- Employee Accused Of Embezzling Thousands
An suspect was arrested after being accused of embezzling thousands from their job, police said.
The employee stole more than $35,000 over the course of two months, police said. It's unclear how long the employee was working the job or what company they worked for.
The business reported the embezzlement on Sept. 19, and the suspect voluntarily surrendered into police custody earlier this month, after multiple conversations with detectives, authorities said.
- Person Hospitalized After Being Shot During Robbery: Police
Two people have been arrested following a robbery and shooting that left one person hospitalized, police said.
The two suspects held up multiple at gunpoint in the 200 block of Brush Street the night of Sept. 21, and robbed them, police said.
One of the people being robbed was shot during the incident, police said. Details about what prompted the shooting was not available. But police say the victim was taken to a local hospital and that their wound was not considered life-threatening.
One of the suspects was arrested in connection with the robbery and shooting on Sept. 25, police said. The second suspect turned themselves on Oct. 6, they added.
The crime wasn't random, as the suspects and victims knew each other, police said.
