CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A man driving a go-kart was killed when the vehicle crashed in Contra Costa County on Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The man was driving northbound on Sellers Avenue, north of Sunset Road, when he apparently lost control. The vehicle went across the southbound lanes before leaving the roadway and crashing into a power pole, Contra Costa CHP said on its Facebook page Saturday.

CHP responded to the scene east of the city of Brentwood at about 4:30 p.m.
