No Threat Found At Alameda School

Alameda Police received a report of a person with a gun at an Alameda school on Monday.

ALAMEDA, CA — Monday afternoon, the Alameda Police Department immediately responded to Encinal High School for the report of a possible person with a firearm on campus. Out of an abundance of caution, school administrators issued a shelter-in-place for all students and staff while officers investigated. During a very extensive investigation, we determined there was no credibility behind the initial report, and there is no current threat to public safety.

We understand that these types of calls can cause concern for students, staff, and their families. The safety of our Alameda schools is of the utmost priority. We remain committed to ensuring our students and school staff feel safe on campus. We appreciate how collaborative the school and the district were in the investigation process, and that collectively, we were able to address this incident quickly.
