Oakland Warehouse Blaze Under Investigation

OAKLAND, CA — The cause of a blaze that raged in an Oakland warehouse late Saturday night is under investigation, fire officials said.

The fire at 1000 40th Avenue, near the intersection of 40th and San Leandro Street, was brought under control around 11:25 p.m., with no reports of injuries, the fire department said on social media.

After responding to the blaze, 30 minutes into the incident, crews went defensive with all crews outside the building, with hose lines and ladder pipes putting water on the fire from multiple sides, the department said.

The defensive operation extinguished the fire and crews were continuing to overhaul the inside of the building and putting out hot spots at 11:25 p.m., according to the department.
