Power Shutoffs To Resume In Alameda

Alameda Municipal Power will begin shutting off electricity for non-payment next month.

ALAMEDA, CA — Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, Alameda Municipal Power has not shut off electricity due to non-payment. That changes next month when shut offs will resume.

The number of impacted customers is not immediately available.

AMP is offering payment plans for customers, residential or commercial, who have past due balances. Having a payment plan in place can help prevent account shut offs.

To set up a payment plan, call AMP at 510-748-3900. The hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

You may also go to the AMP office to set up a payment plan in person. The address is 2000 Grand St., Alameda, CA 94501.
