Remaining Evacuation Orders To Be Lifted For Keller Fire In Oakland
Two homes were damaged and about a dozen were threatened at the height of the fire.
OAKLAND, CA — Remaining evacuation orders for the Keller Fire in the Caballo Hills area of East Oakland will be fully lifted Sunday night, according to the fire department.
The fire is now contained, Oakland Fire spokesperson Michael Hunt said Sunday at 6:30 p.m., but crews will remain overnight and into Monday.
The order to evacuate in the remaining zone, OKL-E203, will be lifted by 8 p.m. All residents will be allowed restored access to the area and to their homes, Hunt said.

Fifty personnel from the Oakland Fire Department and Cal Fire were at the scene of the fire Sunday morning to fully extinguish hot spots and clear hazardous vegetation.
About 200 firefighters from several Bay Area fire departments were called to back up the Oakland Fire Department after the fire broke out on Friday. Cal Fire assisted with air support.

Two homes were damaged and about a dozen were threatened at the height of the fire. No injuries were reported.
PG&E will continue to restore power to affected areas, Hunt said.
The smell of smoke in the area of the fire will continue for the next several days, Hunt said, but does not necessarily indicate an active fire.
"Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report fires to 911," said Hunt in a statement, "but do not need to panic if they smell lingering smoke odors."
