Volunteers Make All The Difference On Coastal Cleanup Day: Alameda
Join others for a good cause: sprucing up beaches and waterways in local parks.
ALAMEDA, CA — The 41st annual Coastal Cleanup is happening Saturday, and community volunteers are welcome to participate, the East Bay Regional Park District announced.
California Coastal Cleanup Day is the state's largest annual volunteer event. Every year, people help remove trash and plastic pollution at beaches and waterways in local parks.
This Saturday, Alameda residents can head to Robert W. Crown Regional Shoreline, at 8th St. and Otis Dr., for trash removal along the beach from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Volunteers will have the opportunity to earn an official Coastal Cleanup patch or sticker, and special prizes will be awarded for "the most unusual trash collected," according to park officials.
