Hearing Postponed in Campbell Murder Case
A pretrial hearing for the accused murderer will take place next month.

A pretrial hearing in Isaac Campbell's new murder trial was delayed Thursday. Campbell will answer to fresh murder charges in the August 2007 death of his ex-girlfriend Liya "Jessie" Lu.
He is scheduled to appear at the Superior Courthouse in Alhambra Feb. 15.
. However, the panel could not decide whether the defendant was guilty of the lesser charge of second-degree murder.

Campbell cannot be found guilty of first-degree murder in the case again due to the Double Jeopardy clause in the Constitution. If convicted of second-degree murder or manslaughter, Campbell would be eligible for parole in 15 years.
The new trial will likely begin on or about March 15, prosecutor Steve Ipsen said.
