The Arcadia Fire Department also responded to an injury collision and a car fire.

The responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of May 6-12. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this period:

At 2:26 p.m., Engine 107, with units from Pasadena Fire Department, responded to a traffic collision with injuries on the westbound 210 Freeway at Madre. Fire crews investigated a two-vehicle traffic collision. Three patients were evaluated on scene to determine the extent of their injuries. All injuries were deemed minor and the patients refused additional treatment and transport.

Monday, May 7

At 3:49 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to medical assist in the 600 block of West Duarte Road. Fire crews evaluated an elderly female who experienced a seizure and was exhibiting an altered mental status from post seizure activity. Paramedics provided advanced life support on scene; including oxygen therapy, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access and drug therapy. The patient was transported to for further evaluation and treatment.

 

Tuesday, May 8

At 12:42 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 700 block of West Duarte Road. Fire crews evaluated a female patient suffering from head pain after striking her head on a stationary object. Paramedics assessed the patient and provided basic life support on scene, including full spinal immobilization. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

 

Wednesday, May 9

At 9:09 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 100 block of East Live Oak Avenue. Fire Crews evaluated a female patient who was experiencing an altered level of consciousness for unknown reasons. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene; including oxygen therapy, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, blood glucose reading and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

 

Thursday, May 10

At 8:39 a.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a traffic collision with injuries in the 1400 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Fire personnel evaluated one patient suffering from minor to moderate injuries from a single vehicle collision. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including full spinal immobilization, oxygen therapy and cardiac monitoring. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

 

Friday, May 11

At 4:45 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 100 block of East Campus Avenue. Fire Crews evaluated a young male patient who was experiencing an altered mental status after being hit in the eye with a baseball. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene; including full spinal immobilization, oxygen therapy, cardiac monitoring and intravenous access. The patient was transported to a trauma center for further evaluation and treatment. 

 

Saturday, May 12

At 6:01 p.m., Engine 105 responded to a vehicle fire at the intersection of South Second Avenue and East Duarte Road. Fire personnel found heavy smoke and fire coming from the engine compartment of a small sedan. Fire crews extinguished the fire utilizing water and Compressed Air Foam. The vehicle was overhauled and a cause and origin investigation was conducted. The cause of the fire was determined to be a mechanical malfunction of the engine. The vehicle was released to .
