Storm Photo Contest: We Have a Winner!

Reader CL wins a $40 gift card to Target for a snapshot of a completely uprooted tree surrounded by a broken sidewalk.

Patch readers braved chilly temperatures, blocked roads and downed power lines to take photos of the aftermath of the hurricane-force winds that swept through Arcadia on Nov. 30.

Patch put out a call to readers to share those photographs, for the best one.

But, with 46 photos and 2 video submissions, it wasn't easy picking a winner. In the end, we felt CL's snapshot of an uprooted tree that decimated the surrounding sidewalk and fell onto a house captured the essence of the storm best.

Some honorable mentions include Ruben Corral's photo of a toppled power pole, along with his other photo of a tree completely blocking the intersection of Las Flores at Santa Anita.

And only a person with the coldest of hearts could fail to fall in love with Cooper, the smiley 85-pound Labrador Retriever who acted as photography assistant to his owner, Erika Ceporius Miller Nguyen.
