Suspected Gang-Related Stabbing Lands Man in Hospital

The stabbing allegedly took place May 11, but the man showed up at the hospital late Thursday.

A man walked into an area hospital late Thursday night with stab wounds from an apparent gang-related altercation that took place May 11 at Santa Anita Avenue and Duarte Road.

Arcadia Police Lt. Tom Le Veque told the Pasadena Star-News that the wounded man, whose injuries do not appear life-threatening, is affiliated with a gang and police believe the stabbing was gang-related.

The victim had just left a beverage shop when two men approached him to ask him "where he was from," the Star-News reported. An argument ensued.

"One of the suspects stepped back, pulled out a folding knife and stabbed the victim in the chest," Le Veque told the newspaper, adding that the attackers fled on foot.
