Free Health Fair This Saturday In Baldwin Park

Vallarta Supermarket will offer free health check-ups for residents of Baldwin Park.

On Saturday, August 11th, Baldwin Park residents will have the opportunity to get free medical tests, during a Health Fair hosted by .

The Fair will be open from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the market's parking lot, located at 13940 Ramona Blvd., according to Tony Hernández, Marketing Manager for the company.

The event will offer examinations for diabetes, glucose, glaucoma, cataracts, cholesterol, blood pressure, obesity, vision, dental health, vaccinations, mammograms, drug use prevention, and family planning, among many other services.

Organizers said that one of the main goals of the Fair is to teach families about healthier lifestyles, by offering information regarding better eating habits.

Vallarta Supermarket has hosted these events in other cities with large Hispanic populations as well, such as Victorville, Tulare, Valley Glen, Palmdale, Porteville, Fresno and Bakersfield.

It is estimated that almost 6,500 health exams will be given during these events, which will be available on weekends throughout August.
