Heat Wave Coming This Week

Temperatures expected to rise above 100ºF in Baldwin Park

High atmospheric pressures in the country's southeast, combined with weak onshore flow, will push temperatures above 100ºF this week, informed the National Weather Service.

The hottest places in Southern California will be the valleys, including San Gabriel. Baldwin Park is expected to hit 103º by Friday.

Authorities recommend that people who have to be outdoors practice the following safety measures:

Among other things, people should remain hydrated by drinking non-alcoholic beverages, and avoid extreme physical activities outdoors during peak heat hours.

Light clothing should be worn, including a hat, as well as sunscreen. Stay in air-conditioned or shaded environments as much as possible.

Other suggestions include not leaving children or pets inside vehicles for any length of time.
