Car Flips In Cabazon Crash, Traffic Slows For Miles

Friday morning's crash was reported on the eastbound I-10 near Morongo Trail.

CABAZON, CA — At least one person was hurt Friday when a big rig rammed a Toyota Corolla, which then collided with a second tractor-trailer on rain-slick Interstate 10 in Cabazon.

The four-vehicle crash was reported at 9:55 a.m. on the eastbound I-10 near Morongo Trail, according to the California Highway Patrol and fire department. Caltrans says three of the four eastbound lanes were closed as a result of the crash.

Fire officials at the scene say the Corolla landed upside down.

At least one motorist suffered injuries described as minor in the crash.

Initial CHP reports also indicate a second crash occurred just east of the original wreck, in which a car ran off the road.

Two of the thoroughfare's four lanes were blocked while crews cleared the wreckage.

As of 11:25 a.m., traffic was backed up to Sunset Avenue in Banning, according to reports.
