Injured Hiker Hoisted Off Fork Trail Sunday In Remote Rescue Operation

Over the weekend, a hiker suffered injuries requiring an airlift rescue from the Fork Trail.

PERRIS, CA — An injured hiker was hoisted off a trail near Lake Perris by a rescued helicopter Sunday.

The injury was reported at around 10:30 a.m. at the Fork Trail, according to the Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire Department.

A rescue team hoisted the hiker, who suffered moderate injuries, to an awaiting ground ambulance, fire officials said.
