Moreno Valley Crash Kills Local Resident
The fatal crash was reported at Frederick Street and Alessandro Boulevard.
MORENO VALLEY, CA — A 37-year-old motorist was killed and another seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision at a Moreno Valley intersection, authorities said Tuesday.
Yoseph Asfaw of Moreno Valley was fatally injured shortly after 6 p.m. Monday at Frederick Street and Alessandro Boulevard, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Sgt. Robert Martinez said that Asfaw was at the wheel of a vehicle that impacted another car, though it was still unclear how fast each driver was traveling and who may have caused the crash.

Paramedics reached the location within minutes and discovered the two motorists with life-threatening injuries. No one else was hurt.
Martinez said that Asfaw and the other victim, whose identity wasn't disclosed, were taken to nearby Riverside University Medical Center, where Asfaw died less than an hour later.

The other driver remained hospitalized Tuesday but was in stable condition, according to the sergeant.
