Moreno Valley Woman Killed In Early Morning Crash

MORENO VALLEY, CA — A 22-year-old woman was fatally injured Monday in a crash at a Moreno Valley intersection.

Karina Samano of Moreno Valley was killed shortly after 3 a.m. Monday at Iris Avenue and Via Del Lago, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The agency said Samano was at the wheel of a car that slammed into a roadside object, causing significant damage to her vehicle. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

The victim's vehicle was the only one involved.

No further details were immediately available.

"It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision," according to a sheriff's statement. "The investigation is ongoing."
