2 Alarm Solano County House Fire: Candles Suspected Of Being The Cause

Unattended candles are suspected of causing a two-alarm house fire in Vallejo early Wednesday morning, a Vallejo Fire Dept. engineer said.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA --Unattended candles are suspected of causing a two-alarm house fire in Vallejo early Wednesday morning, according to a Vallejo Fire Department engineer.

The fire at 608 Laurel St. was reported around 2:20 a.m. May 17. Firefighters saw smoke coming from the garage and found the kitchen and garage burning, engineer/paramedic Kevin Brown said.

"The cause is accidental due to unattended candles burning," Brown said.

The American Red Cross is helping the occupants of the residence find temporary housing, Brown said.
