6 Hand Grenades, Other Weapons Found In Ditch: Solano Deputies
Solano County detectives are trying to determine who the weapons and explosives belonged to.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Solano County deputies recently made a potentially dangerous discovery thanks to an alert community member who came across an unusual find.
According to the Solano County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the north end of the county last week after a man found a gun safe discarded in a ditch.
Inside the safe were six hand grenades, which were later deemed non-functional except for two that were hastily refilled with smokeless powder, deputies said. The safe also contained multiple handgun and rifle magazines, a sub-machine gun, a 37mm grenade launcher, a 50-caliber machine gun on a tripod and other miscellaneous parts.
