Arrest Made In Vallejo Shooting That Killed Man, Injured Woman

Police on Monday arrested Jacob Rodriguez, 18, of Vallejo, on suspicion of murder, assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.

VALLEJO - Vallejo police on Monday arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting that killed a man and injured a woman in a vehicle earlier this month.

The shooting occurred around 11:25 a.m. on February 6 in the area of Heartwood Avenue and Springs Road.

The driver of a white Toyota Camry, Eric Reyes, 18, of Vallejo, died in a hospital of a gunshot wound, and a female passenger also suffered a gunshot wound, police Capt. John Whitney said.

Police on Monday arrested Jacob Jeremiah Rodriguez, 18, of Vallejo, on suspicion of murder, assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.

Rodriguez was booked into Solano County Jail.

Witnesses said the Toyota was being chased by another vehicle a few minutes before the shooting, Whitney said.

The case is still under investigation.
