Benicia Police: Parolee Caught With Blue Meth, Heroin, Burglary Tools

A tip from a community member led to a parolee being arrested after police found him with meth, heroin and burglary tools.

BENICIA, CA -- Police who stopped and questioned a suspect who was seen peeking into the windows of various parked cars in Benicia eventually found that the man was not only a parolee on probation for burglary, but that he had a warrant out for his arrest and was in possession of heroin.

It all began last weekend, after a community member reported seeing a man looking into cars with a flashlight in the 400 block of East Second Street. Two Benicia Police officers stopped Joshua Scott, 30, out of San Ramon, in the area as he matched the descriptions of the suspect.

The officers learned that Scott was on probation for burglary, as well as a $175,000 warrant out of Vacaville for 10 counts of burglary. Blue methamphetamine and a pipe were also found in his car.
