Benicia Police Log: Stolen Muffler, Stolen Car and a Disappearing Loud Person

This is the crime bulletin for Monday June 10, 2013  from the Benicia Police Department. 

154 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Military East business.

1:58 a.m.: There was a domestic violence incident on Dover.

3:55 a.m.: The loud person reported on Southampton Road quieted down before officers arrived.

8:15 a.m.: Officer opened an investigation into a fraud perpetrated on a citizen on York.

10:35 a.m.: Officers spoke to a suspicious person who was spotted on Bayview.

12:14 p.m.: Police were called to Egret where officers began an investigation into the theft of a muffler from a car.

12:59 p.m.: A resident on East L wanted to speak to an officer regarding a personal matter.

2:23 p.m.: Officers opened an investigation into the theft of a car from Panorama.

2:59 p.m.: Officers spoke to a resident on London regarding a civil issue.

3:40 p.m.: Officers moved on to Dartmouth where they talked to a citizen regarding a different civil issue.

3:55 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a home on Viewmont.

4:42 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate a car with a reportedly drunk driver at the wheel.  They were however able to locate the owner of the car who was spoken to by officers.

5:46 p.m.: Officers began an investigation into a hit-and-run that happened on Military East.

7:32 p.m.: Neither of the two friends who got into a fight on Vista Grande opted to press charges.

9:37 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to East Fifth Street where a resident had confronted some kids who were in a vacant home.  The kids ran off before the police arrived.

10:18 p.m.: Vandals broke the window of a car parked on Warwick but opted not to steal anything.

Editor’s Note:  Sometimes you might find items in the police log that seem humorous but please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
