BENICIA, CA — Significant progress was made Tuesday in repairing a water pipeline break at the Benicia Water Treatment Plant, the city of Benicia said in an update Wednesday afternoon.

"The pipe has been repaired, the hole has been closed and cement is being poured," city officials said. "Additional testing is being conducted today in the hopes that the mandate can be lifted tomorrow."

In the meantime, the 30-percent water conservation mandate remains in effect for city residents and businesses.
