CHP Reports Fatal Crash On I-80 In Vallejo

The fatal collision shut down Interstate 80 for two hours, according to the California Highway Patrol.

VALLEJO, CA — The California Highway Patrol reopened westbound Interstate Highway 80, two hours after it was shut down early Sunday by a fatal collision in Vallejo just south of the Magazine Street on-ramp.

The CHP responded to a 12:33 a.m. report of the collision and closed the westbound lanes shortly thereafter.

The ensuing investigation included a search for a white pickup truck in connection with the collision after its license plate was found at the scene. Authorities later found the truck in Vacaville.

The CHP reopened all westbound lanes of the highway at 2:39 a.m.
