Coroner Identifies Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Vallejo
The woman was found lying on the south side of Lewis Brown Road in front of a furniture store, police said.

VALLEJO, CA — The Solano County coroner's office has identified a woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Vallejo on Tuesday night as 23-year-old Gretchen Elliott. Vallejo police said Elliott's last known address was in Bakersfield.
Police responded around 7 p.m. to a pedestrian-vehicle collision on Lewis Brown Road east of Sonoma Boulevard. Elliott was found lying on the south side of Lewis Brown Road in front of a furniture store.
A 52-year-old Vallejo man whose eastbound Kia Soul struck Elliott remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police Lt. Michael Nichelini said.

Elliott was not in a crosswalk when she was hit between Sonoma Boulevard and Broadway Street, Nichelini said. She was taken to a hospital where she died.
It was the first fatal collision in Vallejo this year. There were four fatal collisions in the city at this time last year, and a total of 14 fatal collisions in 2018, Nichelini said.
