Crash Shuts Down I-80; Motorcyclist Airlifted From Scene

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — All lanes at the toll plaza on eastbound Interstate Highway 80 in Vallejo were shut down Sunday after a motorcyclist suffered major injuries in a solo-vehicle collision, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision was first reported at 4:30 p.m. Sunday and the Sig-alert was lifted at 6:01 p.m.

There are 12 lanes at the Carquinez Bridge toll plaza and lanes one through six were blocked.

The motorcyclist was transported in a CHP helicopter to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek and is currently undergoing treatment, according to the CHP.

The CHP is investigating the crash and determining if alcohol or drugs were involved.
