Fairfield police arrested a man they believe stabbed another man to death Tuesday night.

FAIRFIELD, CA — Fairfield police arrested a man they believe stabbed another man to death Tuesday night.

Officers tracked 37-year-old Kristopher Johnson to a Vallejo hotel and arrested him without incident at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday with assistance from Vallejo police.

Police received a 911 call at 9:12 p.m. Tuesday from the residents of a home in the 2000 block of Eagle Way in Fairfield. The caller requested an ambulance and said someone was stabbed at the scene.

Police said the male victim died at the scene. The Solano County Coroner's Office said Thursday they were unable to release the victim's name.

Police said the victim likely knew Johnson, a Fairfield resident, and that an argument at the home escalated into a physical confrontation and the stabbing.
