Man Killed In Benicia Crash Identified
Coroner identified the lone occupant in a solo-vehicle crash on I-780 in Benicia on Monday morning.
BENICIA, CA — A man who died in a solo-vehicle crash on Interstate Highway 780 in Benicia on Monday morning has been identified by the Solano County Coroner's Office as 23-year-old Jacob Dortch.
The crash was reported at about 7:45 a.m. Monday on westbound Highway 780 near Southampton Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A silver Toyota RAV4 hit a guardrail and Dortch, the lone occupant in the Toyota, died at the scene, CHP officials said.

Unsafe speed appears to be a factor in the crash, according to the CHP.
