VALLEJO, CA — Twenty people were displaced by a two-alarm fire at a Motel 7 in Vallejo on Monday afternoon, a fire department spokesman said. The fire in a first-floor room of the motel at 211 Lincoln Road W. was reported around 3:20 p.m. Four other rooms were damaged by smoke or forced entry by firefighters, Vallejo firefighter/paramedic Aaron Klauber said.
An occupant of the burning room escaped safely but suffered a minor injury, and a motel employee who tried to put out the fire with a hose suffered smoke inhalation, Klauber said.
Firefighters confined the fire to the first-floor room and the motel managers and the American Red Cross assisted the displaced occupants with other housing, Klauber said.
