Motorcyclist Dies In Vallejo Collision
Vallejo police say the motorcycle involved in the crash had been reported stolen from Benicia.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A motorcyclist died Wednesday afternoon in Vallejo when his motorcycle struck an SUV, according to police. The collision occurred around 4:05 p.m. at Columbus and North Ascot parkways. After a preliminary investigation, officers determined that the motorcycle was speeding, heading east on Columbus Parkway. The motorcyclist failed to stop at a red light at the intersection and struck a 2014 Dodge Durango that was making a legal left turn from Columbus Parkway to southbound Ascot Parkway, police said.
The male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.
The driver of the Durango was not injured.

Officers learned that the motorcycle was reported stolen from Benicia.
The collision remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Waylon Boyce from the police department's Traffic Division at 707-648-4013 and refer to case number 18-371.

The incident marks the second fatal vehicle collision this year in Vallejo, according to police.
