North Bay Dad Arrested on Charges of Abducting Son

Jon Triebsch, 28, of Rio Vista, was arrested for violating a child custody order and keeping his son from the child's mother.

NORTH BAY, CA -- A Solano County father has been was arrested on suspicion of multiple offenses, including abducting his son, according to police.

The Rio Vista Police Department said Feb. 12 that it received information that Jon Triebsch, 28, was in violation of a child custody order and determined he met the requirements of parental child abduction by keeping his son from his sons’ mother.

Officers reviewed additional information and determined that Triebsch had repeatedly made threats of harm, and found that the child had not been taken to school for several days.

On Feb. 10, officers obtained a warrant to arrest Triebsch for parental abduction, criminal threats and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and then requested the assistance of Solano County Sheriffs’ Deputies and their K9 unit, along with personnel from the Solano County District Attorney/U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force.

Police say a "diversionary device" was activated in the street in front of Triebsch’s residence, while an undercover officer began yelling near his vehicle. Officers then moved into position and were able to apprehend Triebsch without incident when he came outside to see what had caused the noise.

The child was taken to the police department, where he was then released to his mother. Triebsch was transported to the Solano County Jail.
