• Pleasanton Preps: Amador boys ready for start of EBAL soccer action (danvillesanramon.com) — Benicia High’s boys basketball team was edged 56-54 by Amador Valley in a nail-biter decided by free throws at the buzzer. The story also recaps strong recent performances by Amador’s soccer and wrestling squads, giving Benicia fans a look at a key regional rival across multiple sports.
   

• 2 Fee Increases Will Impact Bay Area Commuters Starting Thursday (patch.com) — Benicia-area drivers crossing the Benicia-Martinez Bridge will see tolls rise by 50 cents starting Jan. 1, 2026, with more hikes phased in through 2030. BART fares and parking fees will also increase to help stabilize the transit agency’s finances, meaning higher commuting costs across the region for Benicia residents who drive or ride BART.
