Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Vallejo Identified
BREAKING: The pedestrian struck by a vehicle Friday night died at a hospital, authorities said.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — The Solano County coroner's office has identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday night as 60-year-old Melvin Holmes of Vallejo. Holmes was struck by a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro that was traveling west on Lewis Brown Drive around 8 p.m. Vallejo police said Holmes was walking south across the street outside of a crosswalk.
Holmes was taken to a hospital, where he died at 8:30 p.m., according to the coroner's office.
The driver of the Camaro, a 32-year-old Vallejo man, was not injured.

Police are investigating whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Officer Jim Melville at 707-648-4014.
