Pedestrian Killed On I-780 Tuesday Evening
The exact cause of the collision is under investigation.
BENICIA, CA — A pedestrian was struck and killed on the freeway by Benicia on Tuesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Just after 6 p.m., a man in his 40s was reported to CHP as walking in the lanes of eastbound Interstate Highway 780 near the Military West ramp. By 6:15 p.m., the man was reported as being fatally struck by at least one vehicle, a spokesperson for CHP said.
The collision closed down the highway between the Military West and Southampton exits for at least two hours.

The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation and the identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released.
