Solano County Primary Election 2022: Real-Time Results
Voters decided on the sheriff and DA races, along with Congressional and Assembly races.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Votes cast on Tuesday and mail-in ballots already received by the county have been counted. (Scroll down for real-time results.)
In the race for district attorney, incumbent Krishna Abrams had a comfortable lead over Sharon Henry, unofficial election night results showed.
Elected to her first term in 2014, Abrams had a slew of endorsements, including from the Solano County Farm Bureau, U.S. Rep. Mike Thompson, D-St. Helena; Solano County Sheriff Tom Ferrara, and police unions throughout the county.

Henry received endorsements from the Solano County Democratic Party, Benicia Mayor Steve Young and Vallejo Mayor Robert McConnell, and Vallejo City Council member Tina Arriola and had grassroots support from advocates and attorneys for families whose loved ones were killed by police in the county.
The race pitted not only two people from the DA's office — Henry is a chief deputy district attorney for Solano County with 34 years' experience — but also paired two women who are locked in litigation. Henry filed a federal lawsuit against Abrams in August for race and age discrimination and harassment, citing retaliation for her medical need to work from home during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Henry has criticized Abrams' leadership, saying that over 200 people have left the District Attorney's Office since she was first elected. Other employees at the DA's office have alleged a climate of dysfunction and favoritism.
Abrams has also gotten flak for recusing herself from reviewing the controversial officer-involved shooting deaths of both Willie McCoy and Sean Monterrosa in Vallejo, most notably from California Attorney General Rob Bonta, to whom she turned over the cases.
Bonta said that Abrams was fully capable of reviewing the cases herself and that the families of the victims deserved answers. Bonta's office has agreed to review the Monterrosa killing and Abrams appointed a special prosecutor to examine the McCoy case.
In the race for sheriff, incumbent Thomas Ferrara also held a strong lead over challenger Daryl Snedeker, according to the unofficial election night results.
Election night results for Solano County also showed Wanda Williams and Chuck Timm in a tight race for 3rd District county supervisor.
If no candidate in the race for 3rd District Supervisor received more than 50 percent of the vote, then the top two vote-getters will head to a Nov. 8 runoff election. The same goes for the 4th, 7th and 8th Congressional District races.

As of April, the California Secretary of State reported that 26,948,297 Californians were registered to vote, which accounts for almost 82 percent percent of the state's eligible voting population.
Not surprisingly, there are far more registered Democrats than Republicans in the state, with 46.75 percent for the former and 23.92% for the latter. GOP registration in the state has been dropping steadily, a trend that shows no sign of slowing down even as Republican registration climbed at the national level over the last year.
In Solano County, voter registration as of April stood at 80.90 percent — with 48.71 percent of voters registered as Democrats, 21.95 percent as Republicans and less than 4 percent as American Independents.
Voter turnout was not expected to be as high this primary season, especially without highly competitive statewide races.
