Red Flag Warning Issued Friday for Part of Solano County, Sacramento Valley

The National Weather service has issued a red flag warning Friday for areas below 1,000 feet in the Sacramento Valley and a portion of Solano County.

The warning is in effect from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Dry conditions and breezy north winds are expected, the National Weather Service said.

The forecast is for northerly winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and relative humidity between 7 and 12 percent.

Any fires that develop or are already burning will likely spread rapidly, and outdoor burning is not recommended, the National Weather Service said.

The red flag warning zone includes the northeast corner of Solano County away from the large populations of Fairfield, Vacaville and Vallejo, NWS forecaster George Cline said.

Temperatures in Solano County will be in the upper 80s Friday with breezes 10-20 mph, Cline said.

"It will cool off to the lower 80s by Saturday, Cline said.

A red flag warning means critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly, and a combination of low relative humidity, strong winds and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire danger.
