'Restaurant: Impossible' Star Pappas Restaurant Will Close
Pappas Restaurant in Benicia will close for good Sunday.

A national TV spotlight wasn't enough to save one Benicia restaurant.
Pappas Restaurant, which got a makeover on the Food Network show "Restaurant: Impossible" last year, will shut its doors for good this weekend, the Benicia Herald reports.
Owner Mike Anestasios told the Herald his TV exposure helped the restaurant for a time, but the excitement has died down and reality has set in: there are simply too many restaurants in Benicia.

“It’s a smaller pool (of diners) to draw from,” he told the Herald.
The restaurant's final days will have the same hours as usual: Pappas will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
