A pedestrian killed early Tuesday morning in a crash on eastbound Interstate Highway 80 in Berkeley was identified Friday by the Alameda County coroner as 29-year-old Vallejo resident Teresa Solis. The collision was reported at 1:41 a.m. on Highway 80 just east of Ashby Avenue, California Highway Patrol officials said.

A white Dodge struck Solis as she was walking in the middle of the right lane of the highway. The driver of the Dodge stopped and reported the incident, according to CHP officials.

CHP Officer Matthew Hamer said investigators are still trying to figure out why Solis was on the highway and whether she walked there or was dropped off.
