Suspect Arrested In Fatal Shooting Near Highway 80
Authorities announced the arrest of a man in connection with the March 16 shooting death of Derrick Shields.
VALLEJO, CA — The Vallejo Police Department arrested a man in connection to a fatal shooting in March, officers announced on Friday.
Officers first responded to reports of a shooting in the 2000 block of Solano Avenue near Highway 80 at 3:16 p.m. on March 16. Police found one man suffering from a gunshot wound, and medical personnel later pronounced the man dead at the scene. He was later identified as Derrick Shields.
Upon further investigation, police identified Kenneth Ramsey as the main suspect in the shooting. They presented evidence to the Solano County District Attorney's Office to receive a warrant for his arrest.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Service located and arrested Ramsey in the 100 block of Charles Court on May 16 at 4 p.m. He was booked into the Solano County Jail.
